GP Programme takes off

Finally, the GP Programme to Cameron Highlands has started.

We left the school at 1.pm. There were 57 studnets with 5 teachers going on this trip.

In the evening, we met the famous K.L. traffic jam. It took us an hour to go through the highway when we could completed the journey in 5 minutes.

This is the toll where every vehicle has to pay before they are allowed to enter K.L.

This is one of the housing development projects that we could see along our way.

After we cleared the jam, we were given the opportunity to take picture of the Petronas Twin Towers.

Here are some interesting facts about the twin towers.

  • The 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers was designed by Cesar Pelli and Associates
  • It is the Petronas Corporate Headquarters
  • It was completed in 1997.
  • The towers are joined at the 41st and 42nd floors (175m above street level) by a 192 ft-long (58.4 m) double-decker Sky Bridge.
  • The 1,483 ft (451.9 m), was one of the world's tallest buildings in the world.

'I tried to express what I thought were the essences of Malaysia, its richness in culture and its extraordinary vision for the future. The building is rooted in tradition and about Malaysia's aspiration and ambition.'

This is the quotation from the archetect.

What do you think is the purpose of the archetect in giving this quotation?

What do you think is the outcome of this quotation on the reader of this blog?

  1. I think the architect gave this to show that the building has a great significance on the development of the country and also it also give Malaysia and icon to look upon. I think that when the reader looks at it, he will feel that Malaysia is truly Asia..

  3. If look at the Petronas from the top, you will see that each tower is shaped like the Rub el Hizb.

    1) Why do you think the architect used this symbol?
    2) What do you think it tells you about what the architect thinks is Malaysia's "traditions, aspirations and ambition"?

  4. i think that the architect purpose is to let malaysian know the sense of belonging towards malaysia when they see this twin-towers.
And to let them know that they are proud of malaysia.
i think the shape of this tower is a kind of malay flower when i first saw it.i believe if it was true, the architect wants to remind malaysian that malaysia have a deep-rotted culture and traditions.

  6. I think that the purpose of the architect in giving this quotation is let the Malaysian know that the tower is an important thing for the country as it represent to the county and shows the culture. A lot of people recognized the country through the twin tower and soon it became a recognized country by a lot of other countries. The architect wants the Malaysian to remember that they are outstanding and they are striving for the future to come and never would they fall.
